We recently took up the challenge of reviewing and renewing our estate documents including Wills, Power of Attorneys and Representation Agreements. In determining how to go about this we finally settled on contacting Paul Hergott Law. This decision was largely based on our previous experience of reading Paul’s Castanet columns on assisting victims of vehicle accidents to work through the maze of ICBC bureaucracy while often dealing with significant injuries and emotional distress. His writing on these very personal human stories always reflected a true sense of caring and understanding for what each individual was experiencing at the time. Along with this understanding went good professional advice on how to work through many difficult decisions involving the law.

From our very first contact with Paul we were met with the sense that what we were looking for in this review of our estate planning was as important for him to ‘get right’ as much as it was for us. Paul spent all the time necessary to explain the options that we could chose from to support and enhance what we already had in place from earlier days. His approach was professional in every way, detailed, as it needed to be and thoroughly covered the implications of each document under the law. At the same time Paul’s demeanour created a relaxed and welcoming environment through which we never felt intimidated or overwhelmed. We felt that he truly cared about getting it right for us!

When we wrapped up and signed off on our documents we came away with the sense that we had been well understood and very fairly respected throughout the whole time spent with Paul.
